Rear end...

Saturday I got started on mounting the rearend.  Finally getting to use some of the new parts I just bought !

The rear end is done at this point. I still need to order a few more parts for the rear end and the steering.

After stopping sunday night the rearend was all done and the front end was also done.  Next on the list
I think is steering and pedals.

Parts !

Parts came in on friday so I had a busy weekend on the car.

Friday night I got the front hoop bent up and welded up. Starting to look like something now !

This wrapped up friday night .

Sneak Peek

I know I'm a long ways from wrapping the car, but this is how I think it will look.  I changed my number this year from 54 to 307 for my friends clothing company.  Check out the 307 Chronicles in the link above or thier website at http://www.307wyo.com/ .

more on the transformation.

Well I got done with my first parts order, I'm sure there will be more. Yes racing is expensive !  My engine was built by Scot's Machine shop in Fergus Falls, MN. See link above. I also had a new header built by Laske in Fargo, ND.
Making the square tube to mate the latemodel chassis to the pinto front end was a little tricky. I made templates of ea side of the tube and tranfered that to the square tubing. It worked great, with just a few trips to the bench grinder i had pieces that fit.

Latemodel to mod 4

A year ago my brother Duane made a Wissota mod 4 racecar out of an old square tube dirt latemodel chassis.  I am doing the same this year and decided to share the tranformation.

The chassis I am starting with is an old Harris Latemodel.  After getting the Jig in the shop and leveled out, I started cutting away all the old parts of the latemodel I did not need anymore.

At this point hard to believe this will be a little mod 4.All cut up.

Front end and rear end mocked up. Can start to
see the mod 4 transformation coming about.
